The Challenge
Alston & Bird was tasked with filing an important German patent, which included a number of complicated charts and tables that would require extensive formatting before the patent could be filed. Typically, Alston & Bird handled all of their formatting in-house; however, due to the rush nature of the project, following their standard procedures would result in a missed deadline—a risk the firm could not afford to take.
In addition, the attorneys at Alston & Bird would need time to review the patent on their end before submitting it and moving forward with their case. With the deadline looming ahead, Alston & Bird required a language service provider who could complete both the English translation of the patent and the required formatting and graphics work in an extremely limited time frame.
